Tim's Story
You met Tim in Lesson One: Vampires, right when he was given his first solo mission as a monster slayer. After that, you saw him face a mummy and more in Mummy Issues, and in Tim's Winter Adventure you got a glimpse of his pre-Lesson One monster slaying. Now, we'll show you what happened before Tim even joined the Order.
Tim was adopted as a baby by Mr and Mrs Moore. Everything was going well until one full moon night...
The Moores tried calling the adoption agency in the hopes that they might know what was going on with their baby, but no one believed them.
Eventually, they learned to live with a werewolf son.
They did their best to protect little Tim until he was old enough to be able to keep his secret. This of course meant homeschooling and no babysitters. So, since she had more understanding employers than her accountant husband, Mrs Moore often took her son to work.
Tim learned to live with his condition, but it required some sacrifices, namely lying to his friends and staying home every full moon. (By the way, we totally forgot that Tim is British and they'd probably be wearing school uniforms rather than regular clothes, but we're not going to change it now)
The older he got, the more Tim wondered how his life was going to be. And then, one rainy, full moon night, when Tim was home alone, wearing his flea collar and waiting for the inevitable werewolf transformation, a stranger showed up. Oho, who could that possibly be...? (By the way, much thanks to Clip Studio Paint for making it possible for Wilcox to create a panel depicting someone in the rain for the first time ever)
It was the first time Tim's full moon-induced fluffiness came in handy.
It was also the first time Tim met another supernatural creature. This led him to become more adventurous in his online research, which in turn led him to the Order's official website. As he read about the monster slayers, Tim realized he had found his calling and decided he wasn’t going to let his fluffy curse stop him from helping protect Humanity from supernatural threats.
So, Tim filled out an application form and made an introductory video. Then, after much waiting, Tim finally received a letter from the Elders accepting him as one of only six new recruits.
Since the recruits were encouraged to spend time in the surrounding forest to improve their survival skills, it wasn’t difficult for Tim to hide his werewolf nature. He had more trouble handling the Order's disdain for due process.
After several years of training, Tim was allowed to assist an experienced monster slayer in some missions. His mentor was Ben (who first appeared in Mummy Issues along with his daughter Nikki).
Contrary to popular belief, a monster slayer has to deal with any abnormal threat, not just supernatural ones. Tim couldn’t have known at the time, but the mission to stop the mad Dr West would change his future.
After more than a decade of learning the fine art of monster slaying, Tim was given his first solo mission.
Of course, that didn't quite go as expected for everyone involved...
